Harold (Hal) Burchfield serves as the owner and operator of Valorem Business Solutions. Harold combines his skills in process analysis and design, development, system configuration, troubleshooting and team leadership to deliver SAP and Vertex transaction tax business solutions. He has over thirty years of SAP experience and has successfully completed multiple SAP and Vertex go-lives and upgrades.

Harold attended his first SAP Sapphire conference in 1990. He began his SAP career working directly for SAP America for 12 years as a consultant and project manager. He then joined Vertex Inc. and supported its US and international SAP customers for 18 years. He has extensive experience in SAP S4/HANA Logistics, Finance, supporting ABAP workbench technologies, Vertex O Series and Vertex Accelerator for SAP. He is an expert in the use of the SAP external tax interface for US and Canadian tax and VAT and was involved with some of its initial implementations.

His breadth of knowledge includes work across both global Fortune 500 and mid-sized firms. He has experience with clients in the aerospace and defense, consumer products, construction equipment, electronics, healthcare, mining and technology industries.

Harold holds a BS Degree Mechanical Engineering, an MS Degree Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is also a Vertex certified O Series implementer for US and Canadian tax and VAT.
